Don’t let your overripe bananas go to waste! This Weight Watchers Banana Cake takes even the brownest banana and turns it into a soft, fluffy, sweet snacking cake that’s perfect for an afternoon pick me up with a hot cup of tea or coffee.  The frosting on top lends some sweetness, while also making this dessert more decadent than the calories let on.

Weight Watchers Banana Cake is made with simple ingredients – nothing that is too hard to shop for. It’s a recipe you can keep on hand for when you feel a sugar craving coming on, but don’t want to blow your diet. One serving of WW banana cake is only 95 calories, and that’s with the frosting included! It’s a delightful light snacking cake that will warm up your mornings or dress up your afternoon snack. I love this as a finisher for a Weight Watchers friendly lunch. It makes the whole meal feel complete.

Three reasons why you need to make this recipe!

It’s a delicious way to use up browning bananas.

While banana bread is the usual go-to, most banana bread recipes are packed with cups of sugar and high fat butter. A serving of this banana cake is only a few grams of sugar and one gram of fat!

Weight Watchers Banana Cake can double as a breakfast cake or a snacking cake.

Whether it’s for breakfast, a mid-morning snack, or an afternoon snack – it doesn’t matter! It’s only 95 calories per serving, so you don’t have to work that hard to fit it into your day.

It’s a fun recipe for entertaining.

Change it up from the usual plate of cookies or cheesecake when guests come over. You can have them swooning over the lightly sweetened banana cake you keep stocked in the fridge instead.

Ingredients you need to make Weight Watchers Banana Cake:

  • 1 egg

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • You can make this banana cake without frosting, and add Lily’s No Sugar Added dark chocolate chips to the batter for a banana chocolate chip version.
  • Chopped nuts would be a great addition – either in the batter or on top of the frosting – if you have the points for it.

Tips and Tricks for Making Weight Watchers Banana Cake:

  • When you’re making the icing, it will probably look like it’s not enough. But it is just enough to lightly cover the squares.
  • Store in a sealed container and it’s best if stored in the fridge.
  • If you’re not needing all the squares at once, feel free to frost them individually as the frosting will keep better in a dish and not on squares.

  1. How are you tracking these in WW? Iā€™ve typed everything Banana in and nothing even close matches. Just curious what others do.

    1. Hi there, you can’t find my recipes in the App, just like any other recipes from other food bloggers.. (although that would be cool ha!) you need to enter it as a quick add food and input the name plus point value yourself..

  2. I just put this in the oven, I can’t wait to try it. Your recipes have helped me so much on my weight loss. I have made so many of your dishes. You make it easy with the points there on the recipe. I make at least 1 a week. They are easy and tasty and even my kids and husband love them. Just wanted to say Thank You! Thank You! Please keep doing what you do!!!!

  3. This looks delicious! I just stumbled across a link to your site from a WW group on FB.

I was going to ask what size baking dish you used, and realized when skimming I’d missed it. So thanks for sharing and giving all the info!! Can’t wait to make it.

  4. This is so good! I made it without the frosting for my boyfriend who must have some sort of sweet/quick bread every morning and we both loved it. So moist and fluffy. Great job!

      1. Your recipe calls for 3/4 of a tbsp of butter and milk. Are those typos? Is it supposed to be a cupā€”not tbsp?

  5. I only have self rising flour… Do I still follow the recipe as it is or do I make changes???
    BTW- I am excited to find your site! My wife and I are on WW and the variety of your recipes is a welcomed addition!;

    1. Hi Willis, I’m so glad you found me and I hope you both enjoy the recipes, self rising flour has baking powder in it but if I was using it I would likely still add a bit
