First of all, we love a three-ingredient recipe. Three Ingredient Cresent Bites are a quick and easy appetizer or dessert that are not a hassle to whip up. With only three ingredients, you’re less likely to forget one at the store. No more getting home and realizing you have to go right back out for a key ingredient.

Second, we love a healthy dessert anytime it involves chocolate. Chocolate and peanut butter to be exact. The melted peanut butter and chocolate add a creamy, sweet filling to the buttery crescents. Kids, friends, family, you! will be absolutely obsessed.

Third, other than the crescent dough, you don’t have to actually cook anything. These three ingredient crescent bites feel fancy and delectable but are as simple as assembling, cutting, and baking. This is a great recipe to start teaching your kids – they’ll love getting involved with this fun recipe.

Three reasons why you need to make this recipe!

Chocolate and Peanut Butter all in one bite.

Delicious is what it is. You get a bite of the buttery crescent, the smooth bittersweet chocolate, and the nutty drizzle of peanut butter. It’s enough to satisfy any raving sweet tooth!

It’s a lightened-up chocolate peanut butter dessert!

Yes, it’s healthy! One crescent roll serving is only 75 calories and 4 grams of fat. Normally when chocolate and peanut butter are involved, it’s high calorie and high fat. But not this yummy dessert.

You only need three ingredients.

It doesn’t get easier than that! Not only is it just three ingredients, there is no real cooking skills required for this recipe. It’s easy to assemble, place on a tray and bake away. You could make several all at once if you’re getting ready for party.

Ingredients you need to make Three Ingredient Cresent Bites:

  • 1 package Pillsbury reduced fat crescent rolls
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon light peanut butter melted

DSCN6088How to make Three Ingredient Cresent Bites (step by step):

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and make one large piece of dough with all 8 rolls. Pinch together any open seems. Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips evenly over the dough.
  3. Carefully roll up the dough so you have a long roll.
  4. Using a serrated knife, cut into 14 pieces and form a ring on your baking sheet, the pieces should be very close to each other. Make sure to “saw” the knife back and forth, so it keeps the edges clean. If you “smash” the knife down, it will create a small, uneven crescent bite.
  5. Bake in the oven for 12-14 minutes. Check them often to prevent over baking. Melt the peanut butter in the microwave for approx. 45-60 seconds. Very carefully slide your crescent ring onto a plate and drizzle the melted peanut butter over the rolls.

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • Use Lily’s No Sugar Added Chocolate Chips. It will reduce the sugar, increase the fiber, and you can change up the flavors. Lily’s has a variety of flavors such as salted caramel, pumpkin spice, white chocolate, chocolate mint, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, etc.
  • If you feel that you want more peanut butter than just 1 tablespoon, you can use PB2 or PBfit. It’s a powdered peanut butter that you can mix with water. It’s very low in calories and fat, so you can use a lot more than just 1 tablespoon without adding weight watchers points. The fact that you need to add water means you can make it as drizzly as you want. There is also an almond butter version if you don’t want to use peanut butter.
  • Use any nut butter you like – Sunflower Seed Butter, Almond Butter, Cashew Butter, etc. Change it up!
  • If you have the points for it, add some chopped nuts in with the chocolate chips. Chopped pistachios in it and on it would be very pretty.

DSCN6101Tips and Tricks for Making Three Ingredient Cresent Bites:

  • Instead of cutting all the way through the dough, you can take the long roll and make a ring out of it on the nonstick cooking sheet. Then saw slices into the dough about halfway down. It’ll create a pretty, pull apart three ingredient crescent ring.
  • This doesn’t really keep well because it’s best served warm, but if you do have to make it ahead of time, I suggest warming it up in a toaster oven before serving. Save the peanut butter drizzle for right before serving.
  • You can make this into however servings you’d like, by cutting it in different ways. If you want mini bites – cut it into 20+ pieces. If you want more of a hefty serving, cut into 8-10 pieces.
