Bubble Up Pizza Casserole is the perfect Friday movie night dinner to enjoy with the family. It’s reminiscent of a meat lovers pizza, so it’s hearty and filling. The best part is, the whole family can enjoy it together, while you also get to stay within your Weight Watchers guidelines. One serving of Bubble up pizza casserole is 10 Weight Watchers points, and every point is well worth it with how amazing this dinner tastes. Dare I say it’s better than pizza?!

Buttery biscuits are baked right into the filling, so it’s like getting a taste of fluffy crust with every bite. By adding lean meat and reduced fat cheese, you get the flavor of pizza without a ton of extra calories. I love making this in different ways, so don’t be afraid to throw in your favorite Weight Watchers friendly meats or veggie toppings. You can even change up the cheese to your preference. It’s a great way to make a healthy “pizza” that tastes absolutely amazing.

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • If you can’t find the 4 value pack of 7.5 oz biscuit dough, you can always buy a larger pack and just weigh out 7.5 oz of dough.
  • If you use turkey pepperoni (3 points) it will change each serving to 9 Weight Watchers points.
  • By using fat free chicken (0 points) instead of extra lean ground beef, and turkey pepperoni instead of regular pepperoni, each serving is 7 points instead of 10 Weight Watchers points.
  • It’s optional to use fat free ground turkey or chicken to lower points.
  • Add peppers and mushrooms to the meat mixture if you like those veggies. It’s also optional to leave out the onion if you’re not a fan. Make this bubble up pizza casserole your own!

  1. OMG! This recipe is just AMAZING! Thanks for sharing. This opens up a realm of so many possibilities. Definitely a keeper!
    Many many thanks!!

    1. It is hard to say, you’d have to bulk it up with something as you’d probably have too much biscuits and not enough filler

  2. I’d try this without those dough pieces and put the cooked mixture into Tostito Scoops to cut the calories…those scoops save many an evening craving! 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. I made this last week and it was delicious! And boyfriend approved. Although it’s not very filling so I paired it with a side salad!

  4. Substituted ground chicken for hamburger…then used 3 links of sausage. Unfortunately had the wrong size biscuits…only 5 in the can…but I’m sure it will still be amazing! My points are still only 8 free style points!

  5. I made this tonight for the first time and we loved it so much. My husband couldn’t believe this was a skinny recipe. This will be one of our go to recipes!!

    1. Hi Donna, I am so glad you both enjoyed it, the bubble up’s are great for not feeling like a “skinny” meal haha 🙂

  6. Help! What is the difference between pizza sauce & pasta sauce? I have never heard of pasta sauce. Pizza sauce is the only thing I ever put on pasta!

    1. Hi Jo, not sure where you are located, but here in my part of the world (Canada, Ontario) we sell small tins of pizza sauce, and then your typical jars of tomato pasta sauce for spaghetti and such, you can use pasta sauce for pizza but I typically buy the pizza sauce.. this is the one I usually buy https://www.google.com/search?q=pizza+sauce+tin&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjsgbzv8dnpAhUNH6wKHcskCAwQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=pizza+sauce+tin&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzICCAAyBggAEAoQGDIGCAAQChAYOgQIABBDOgQIABAYUIxxWIB4YLx6aABwAHgAgAHjAYgBygWSAQUwLjMuMZgBAKABAaoBC2d3cy13aXotaW1n&sclient=img&ei=jm3RXuyCDI2-sAXLyaBg&bih=757&biw=1600&rlz=1C1CHBF_enCA706CA706#imgrc=15dd-xxrMs-lyM

  7. Please disregard my stupid question earlier re: pizza sauce & pasta sauce. I use spaghetti sauce with pasta, not pizza sauce.
I couldn’t wrap my brain around it. Could not think of spaghetti sauce. I am back on track now. Thanks!

    1. Hi Jo, haha I just replied and shared a link to the pizza sauce I buy before seeing this comment… Glad you are back on track lol .. I have many of those days haha it’s all good 🙂

  8. Do you ever use the two ingredient dough instead? Would it work? Or be similar i points?
    Thank you

    1. Hi Jenna, I personally have not tried a bubble up dish with 2ID, I have had some followers try and while they say it is ok they prefer the biscuits
