Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • You can use a hand mixer and shred the chicken right in the crockpot rather than taking it out and shredding it with two forks. Just keep it on low, otherwise you’ll splash BBQ sauce everywhere.
  • You can make this in the oven if you don’t have a slow cooker – just allow the chicken to cook for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees before shredding it.
  • A favorite way to use this chicken is to put it on top of a baked potato or baked sweet potato for a healthy version of a BBQ stuffed potato.

Tips and Tricks for Making Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken BBQ:

  • Store this slow cooker pulled chicken BBQ in the fridge for up to seven days. Alternatively, you can freeze the chicken in a large ziploc freezer bag, or put a serving into individual ziploc bags and freeze it that way.  It’ll keep for up to three months.
