Ingredients 

  • 500 g. of green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ cup whole-wheat flour, 55 g.
  • ¼ cup egg whites, 50 g. (2 units)
  • ¼ cup milk, low fat, 60 ml
  • cup Panko bread crumbs, 60 g.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a large bowl, combine the whole-wheat flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg whites and milk. In a third bowl, combine the Panko bread crumbs.
  • Dip the green beans in the flour mixture, then the egg white mixture, and then the Panko bread crumb mixture.
  • Place the green beans on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with oil.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately.
