Dunkin’ rolled out its Halloween menu on September 30, and the part worth knowing got a little buried under all the purple foam: four of the twelve new drinks are built on Dunkin’ Zero, the chain’s zero-sugar sparkling energy drink.

The other eight run from simple drinks that fit nicely in a small to full dessert in a cup. So I went through the menu drink by drink and sorted it into order it, order it small, and skip it (or share it).

About the verdicts. They’re based on how Dunkin’ builds each drink. What the base is and what gets added on top. The WW points beside each drink were computed in the app from Dunkin’s published nutrition for the drink as it comes. Other plans differ, so check your own app before you sip.

Enjoy!

Order It: The Four Dunkin’ Zero Drinks

All four are the same drink in different flavors: sparkling water, energy drink, fruit flavor, and zero sugar at every size in Dunkin’s nutrition guide. No lemonade, no milk, no foam, so there’s nothing to take off. Zero sugar is not zero WW points, though.

From Dunkin’s published nutrition, each one comes out to 1 point for a medium in the app, so count it. It is an energy drink, so expect caffeine.

Green Apple Dunkin’ Zero

Verdict: order it. Tart, crisp green apple and bubbles. It’s the new flavor the other three are built from, so start here.

Points (medium): 1

Midnight Apple Dunkin’ Zero

Verdict: order it. Green Apple Zero with blackberry flavor added.

Points (medium): 1

Candy Kiss Dunkin’ Zero

Verdict: order it. Green Apple Zero with tropical mango. Dunkin’ calls it candy-inspired, so it’s the pick for a sweet tooth.

Points (medium): 1

Orchard Twist Dunkin’ Zero

Verdict: order it. Green Apple Zero with peach, the one to pick if straight sour apple is too tart for you.

Points (medium): 1

Order It Small

Neither is as light as a Zero, but both are simple drinks with nothing piled on top.

Midnight Potion Refresher

Verdict: order the small. Berry clementine and blueberry with green tea. No foam, no milk, no lemonade. The sweetness is in the fruit base, so there’s nothing to leave off: size is the only choice.

Points (small): 8

Points (medium): 12

Skip It (Or Share It)

These seven are desserts. If one is the reason you’re going, get the small and enjoy it.

Five Dunkin' Halloween drinks topped with Purple Marshmallow Cold Foam: Sour Apple Energy, Terror-misu Cloud Latte, Dark Spell Daydream Refresher, Franki Matcha and the Creepy Crawler Coffee Chiller with whipped cream and mocha drizzle

Nutty Nightmare Iced Coffee

Verdict: order the small. Iced coffee and cream with tiramisu and toasted almond flavors. It’s a plain iced coffee underneath, so it’s the lightest way to get the tiramisu flavor on this menu.

Lighter way to order it: ask for skim milk in place of the cream, and fewer pumps of flavor.

Points (small): 10

Points (medium): 15

Sour Apple Energy

Verdict: skip it, and order the plain Green Apple Zero. It sounds like the zero-sugar drinks above and starts with one, but Dunkin’ mixes in sour lemonade and tops it with Purple Marshmallow Cold Foam. Both are sweetened, so the zero-sugar part stops at the base.

Points (medium): 21

Dark Spell Daydream Refresher

Verdict: skip it, and order the Midnight Potion. Same berry clementine and blueberry flavors as the Midnight Potion, but with oatmilk in place of the green tea and purple foam on top.

Points (medium): 26

Werewolf Punch Refresher

Verdict: skip it. Blackberry, clementine, mango and pineapple flavors mixed with lemonade. No milk and no foam, but it’s sweetened twice: once by the fruit base and again by the lemonade. The Midnight Potion uses green tea where this one uses lemonade.

Points (medium): 19

Franki Matcha

Verdict: skip it, or split it. Sweetened matcha with whole milk and vanilla flavor under the purple foam. That’s three sweetened parts in one cup.

Lighter way to order it: ask for skim milk or almondmilk and leave off the foam.

Points (medium): 24

Terror-misu Cloud Latte

Verdict: skip it, and order the Nutty Nightmare. An iced latte with espresso and tiramisu flavors, layered with purple foam and finished with hot chocolate powder. If it’s tiramisu you’re after, our Weight Watchers tiramisu is 5 points a serving as written, and you get a fork.

Points (medium): 29

Creepy Crawler Coffee Chiller

Verdict: skip it, or share a small. Frozen coffee blended with tiramisu flavors, drizzled with purple foam, then topped with whipped cream and mocha drizzle. It’s a coffee milkshake with three toppings, the biggest treat on the menu.

Lighter way to order it: a small, with no whipped cream and no drizzle.

Points (medium): 49

What’s Still Coming Later in October

Dunkin’ calls this menu “the first chapter” and says more is on the way through October.
