You guys.. I think I hit the holy grail on this one.. and I am in ranch dressing heaven! I’m trying to take advantage of the new zero point foods where I can so it was on my list to make a ranch dressing with the now zero point non-fat yogurt, but I couldn’t wait and boy am I glad I didn’t. This ranch dressing is nothing short of AMAZING!! It might actually get me to eat vegetables (a big MIGHT!) You can use it as a dip, a dressing on salad or in recipes that call for ranch, the possibilities are endless with this one and I am excited to see what creations I can come up with using it. I know there are several ranch dressing out there so I wanted to make mine slightly different, I won’t lie, it has a pop of zest to it but I think you will all love it, and even more so that it is zero points on the WW.

Homemade ranch dressing in jar
0P, 0SP blue & purple, 1SP green/PP per 1/4 cup serving

Ingredients

  • 1 cup non fat plain greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp milk, I used 1%
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dill weed
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl and serve.
  • Store dressing in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
  • *Note- I edited this to 1/4 tsp of paprika (it was originally 1/2) some complained of a little too zesty and a pink color, this should help

  1. I am definitely going to make this! It really sounds good and will be perfect with the new freestyle program!

      1. Hey drizzle! Looks awesome! Just made it going to let it settle bit…. If I want more zest so to speak what do you suggest adding? TIA ?

        1. Hi Jennie, you can increase the paprika, you can add a pinch of chili powder, cajun seasoning, red chili flakes..hope that helps

    1. I’m going to try this as a dip/dressing, but I’m also going to try the dry ingredients in taco soup, because the ranch packets are WAY too salty. Thanks for the recipe.

  2. Add a single clove of garlic and let it rest in the fridge for a day (to make the garlic go into the dressing) . For garlic lovers!

      1. So yummy….I went heavy with the dill, as I’ve been craving a great dill dip. This fit the bill, and doesn’t feel low fat…..at all! Thanks for sharing.
        xo

        1. Hi Karen, yay!! I am so glad you enjoyed it, I think it’s great you can play around with these seasonings based on your likes and dislikes 🙂

  3. Ok I’ve looked closely at the recipe again and I followed it correctly I think but there was way too much spices for just a cup of the yogurt. Mine doesn’t even look like yours?. Don’t know what went wrong.

    1. I felt the same Cindy. It was way too salty and thank goodness I only added a 1/4 tsp of pepper because it would have been way to peppery for my taste – even the 1/4 tsp was too much – but I don’t like pepper so…. I ended up adding the rest of the container of yogurt and 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp dill and onion and garlic powders – and the flavours settled down. However, my son liked the original and didn’t like it with my changes – but perhaps that was my plan! He can eat the full fat dip and I’ll have my zero fsp dip for myself! With all this said – I love the dressing and I can’t wait to try it on a salad. Would love to have a zero sp salad that actually has flavour!

      1. Hi Hilary, so glad you enjoyed it and found a way to make it suit you 🙂 I personally love pepper and put it on everything 😉

    2. Tried this recipe today. I had the same thing happen. Look is different and the taste was way to spicy. Tasted like black pepper dip.

      1. Hi Charlotte, hmm weird.. maybe some are just more sensitive to pepper is all I can think, you can leave it out if you try again, always feel free to change it up to suit you and play around with it

  4. Gotta let it sit so the flavors marry, but a lick of the mixing spoon has me very happy!! I used granulated garlic (since I don’t have powder) and there’s a bit more zing, but I’m loving it!! Thank you!!!

  5. All I had was a taste from the mixing spoon but I think you totally nailed it! I used the Icelandic yogurt and granulated garlic because that was in my kitchen. Thank you for this!

  6. I made this yesterday to go along with lunch. My husband said he liked it because it had a little kick in it. I did wing the ingredient measurements because I used a single serving container of nonfat Greek plain yogurt. Also, it turned out a little on the red side. I think it was the paprika so it didn’t look like your picture. All in all it was very good.
    Thanks!
    Susan

    1. Hi Susan, I am glad you both enjoyed it, my guess is yeah maybe a little too much paprika, I used just a pinch, enough to give it that pop of zest but not change the color..

      1. Your recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon. It is pink if you follow your team recipe. Doesn’t look at all line picture.

        1. I’m super new to WW and would like to try but how is it zero points but has 2 tablespoons of milk? Are small quantities of milk ok?? I still trying to get the hang of all of this.

          1. Hi Shannon, welcome to WW 🙂 Well it is 2Tbsp for the whole batch so when you work out how much milk is actually in a serving it is not much .. if you sat and ate the whole portion of it then yes you’d add a point for the milk but I doubt you’d eat it all haha .. Good luck on your journey

  7. Was a little too peppery for me so next time I’m going to start with a 1/4 tsp and go from there. Other than that I think I’m gunna be using this instead of store bought!

    1. Hi Brittany, so glad you enjoyed it and yes I agree to play around with it a bit if you find one seasoning over powering

  8. Every time I look at this recipe I think the photo of the ingredients in the bowl is just a bunch of ingredients in the palm of your bare hand haha trying this tomorrow!

    1. Haha, your no the first to think that 😉 it was later in the day and I needed the light coming from the patio door for the picture 🙂 Hope you enjoy it
