Trader Joe’s Buffalo Chicken Dip has been trending on TikTok recently, and with good reason!

Long time readers of this blog will know that I’m obsessed with buffalo chicken (and I’m not going to apologize for it!). In fact, I just counted, I currently have 19 recipes that feature buffalo chicken!

Today I’m going to show you how to make a copycat version of Trader Joe’s famous Buffalo Chicken recipe.

If you are thinking, Trader Joe’s buffalo chicken dip is delicious, why shouldn’t I just run to the store and grab a bottle instead of making it?

Why you need this Trader Joe’s Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

I will give you two reasons.

First, sadly Trader Joe’s buffalo chicken dip isn’t very good for you. This homemade buffalo chicken dip is much healthier.

Second, once you make this copycat Buffalo chicken dip for yourself, I think you will agree that this homemade version tastes much  much better than the store bought stuff.

And third, making homemade dip is one of the easiest ways to show off for guests over to watch a movie or the big game. Ok, I guess that’s 3 reasons, but you get the point.

This buffalo chicken dip is perfect for dipping tortilla chips, but it also great for a vegetable plate of carrots, celery, and tomatoes, or really whatever your favorite veggie will be great.

Give this delicious healthy buffalo chicken recipe a try, you won’t regret it.

How to make healthy ranch dressing

  1. Mix all of your ingredients (listed in the previous section) together in a bowl and serve.
  2. Store dressing in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.

How to make shredded chicken

I like to make my shredded chicken in the crockpot. I typically make a batch a week and store it in the fridge, it will last up to 4 days and I am always making chicken recipes. You can also make a huge batch and freeze it for easy use later on.

  1. Add some chicken broth to my crockpot, about 1-2 cups depending on how many chicken breast you are cooking.(you can substitute water also
  2. Place the boneless skinless chicken breast to the crockpot and cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  3. Use a fork to shred chicken. If it is not shredding easily then it needs some more time in the crockpot. You can also use an electric mixer to shred the chicken.

Variations and Substitutions for Buffalo Chicken Dip

Super Easy Trader Joe’s Buffalo Chicken Dip. There are two ways you can really speed up the recipe.

  1. You can replace the homemade ranch dressing with store bought ranch dressing if you are running low on time. If you are following WW just make sure to add the store bought ranch to your app.
  2. If you don’t have time to make a batch of shredded chicken, rotisserie chicken works great. Just make sure to remove the skin before you mix the chicken in with the other ingredients

Adjust the heat – it’s no secret I love spicy food, but if you don’t like as much heat you could definitely use less of my beloved Frank’s hot sauce. Or replace it with another lower heat brand. If you want extra heat you could toss a little extra cayenne pepper into the recipe to turn up the heat another notch.
