Depending on where you live, most kids returned to school today, my daughter started grade 8 and I thought I would bake her up a fun after school snack… And nothing says fun quite like SPRINKLES!!! I love these funfetti cake donuts, so decadent and yummy. They are actually on my Drizzle me sweet App available in the App store and features 100 weight watcher sweet treat recipes.. I decided to add them to my blog and I changed them up just a little bit.. You can eat them as is or add a little icing for extra sweetness! Just 95 calories and 3 smart points each..

Funfetti cake donuts

By: Drizzle
Servings: 6
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 14 minutes
Total: 19 minutes
3PP, 3SP on all 3 programs, blue, purple & green

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp white cake mix, or funfetti cake mix
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp egg whites, I use liquid egg whites in carton
  • 1/3 cup milk, I used 1%
  • 2 Tbsp rainbow sprinkles
  • Icing, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F and spray a 6 hole donut pan with cooking spray.
  • In a small bowl mix your flour, cake mix, sugar and baking powder (*note- I always keep a box of cake mix in the cupboard, it has a great shelf life, just keep in a sealed bag once opened and you can use it in other donut recipes or add a little to your morning pancakes/waffles)
  • Stir in your milk, vanilla and egg whites then fold in your sprinkles.
  • Fill your donut pan and bake in oven for approx 12-14 minutes.
  • Makes 6 donuts at 3 personal points or smart points each (blue, purple & green) (2 points plus) optional to add 1tsp icing for an extra point.

  1. Morning! I just purchased both of your food apps and realized this version of the recipe is different than the one in the app. If I remember correctly this one is missing apple cider vingear. Can you tell me why they are different and what the difference is? Thanks!

      1. Hello Kate! I have just started WW and have been wanting donuts. I have actually never been a big donut-eater, but now that I worry about every point, of course, I want them. Thank you so much for posting these wonderful recipes. I would like to ask you, however, which one is your all-time favorite? Or which are you top 3? Hoping to hear from you. Amy

        1. Hi Amy, sorry for the late reply.. I get your worries as I am like that too…I think about all the things I might have to miss out on but then I think no I don’t have to I just need to make it point friendly 🙂 my favs would be the funfetti for sure, carrot cake is good, oatmeal chocolate chip and the chocolate glazed, of who am I kidding I love them all haha

    1. Hi, I usually just use a little Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines, any from the tub, I use a very small amount in total so it doesn’t add too many points
