Funfetti cake cookies are the intersection of two great things — the soft, cakey texture of box mix cake and the handheld convenience of a cookie — and the result is pure joy in every bite. Loaded with rainbow sprinkles and impossibly soft, these cookies are festive, fun, and exactly what you want for birthday celebrations, kids’ parties, or any time you need something colorful that makes people smile. They’re also one of the easiest cookies you’ll ever make, which makes them a go-to whenever you need a quick sweet treat.

  • Swap: Use any flavor of cake mix — lemon, strawberry, or chocolate all make excellent variations with the same easy method.
  • Make-ahead: Freeze scooped dough balls; bake from frozen whenever you need fresh cookies, adding 2–3 extra minutes.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days; they stay soft and cakey throughout.
  • Variation: Roll dough balls in extra sprinkles before baking for even more color and a slightly crisp, festive exterior.
  • Serving: Stack on a plate with a birthday candle for a quick celebration treat, or bag individually with ribbon for party favors.

These little cookies are so yummy, its like cake but in a cookie and I mean who doesn’t like sprinkles?? 😉 All you need is 3 simple ingredients and 15 minutes and this little treat can be ready to enjoy, these cookies are only 2 smart points each!

So glad I found your site a couple weeks ago. I love your recipes but especially like lower point sweets. I’ve just rejoined Weight Watchers after several years, lieftime delinquent. The new plan is great except sugar being eliminated has been difficult and I don’t want to cheat. Thanks for all your recipes.

    1. Hi Kimberly, glad you rejoined WW ๐Ÿ™‚ It is definitely different now but I still think for the most part we can have our sweets.. Not convinced on some of the things and how high they have gone but I am trying ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope you enjoy the recipes…

    1. It is a Canadian brand, so if your in the U.S you would have to find an alternative, I know some people said they would try using PB2

  2. Will this work for other cake mixes as well? Need a cookie recipe! Really miss my cookies!

  3. I have made them using sugar free chocolate and also sugar free yellow. They are 1 pt each. My absolute favorite though is using lemon cake mix and adding some lemon juice and zest.

  4. They are so good!!!! Iโ€™m concerned as to their point value though. How are these two points when the serving size on the box is 1/10 of the box for 8-10 pts depending on the brand ?

    1. You are only using 1 cup in the recipe not the whole box, and it makes 14 cookies, I used the WW recipe builder to determine points
