This candy cane fruit dip is a holiday party staple that comes together in minutes and disappears even faster. A creamy, sweet, peppermint-kissed dip served alongside fresh fruit is festive, fun, and genuinely delicious — the kind of thing that makes the fruit platter the most popular spot on the appetizer table. It’s also a lighter way to satisfy your sweet tooth at holiday gatherings without diving headfirst into the cookie tray. Make a big bowl and watch people hover around it all night.
- Swap: Use plain Greek yogurt as the base instead of cream cheese for a tangier, higher-protein version.
- Make-ahead: Mix the dip up to 2 days ahead; the peppermint flavor actually gets better as it sits.
- Storage: Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days; stir well before serving if it separates slightly.
- Variation: Swap peppermint extract for vanilla and add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm, holiday-spiced dip.
- Serving: Serve with strawberries, apple slices, pineapple chunks, and pretzel rods for a sweet-and-salty combination.
I love fruit.. but I also love finding ways to spruce it up and turn it into more of a dessert while keeping points low. I also love candy cane.. so I combined the two 🙂 This candy cane dip is really easy to whip up and makes a great little treat to put out for your guests. Makes 1 cup of dip and serves 4-5 at 2 smart points on the freestyle program.
