We are a few days into September now and pumpkin season is definitely in full force! I have never posted any drink recipes on my blog before but in honor of all things pumpkin, I thought I’d try a few simple creations. Say hello to this delicious pumpkin pie smoothie and pumpkin spice latte, both drinks are simple to make and perfect for the fall season. The pumpkin pie smoothie is 3SP on both blue & purple, 4SP on green, the pumpkin spice latte is 3SP on all programs. Both drinks can easily be lowered in points by using almond or cashew milk as a substitute.

Let’s start with the pumpkin pie smoothie…

This delicious filling drink is simple to make, just add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend till smooth and creamy. If you want a thinner smoothie use 3/4 cup of milk and for a thicker one for a smoothie bowl use 1/2 cup of greek yogurt and just 1/3 cup milk.

For the sugar-free syrup I used E.D.Smith no sugar added syrup that we sell here in Canada, it resembles maple syrup. If you have a flavored sugar-free syrup such as pumpkin, caramel, or vanilla use any of those.

You can swap out the milk for almond milk, cashew milk, or any milk of preference.

Pumpkin spice latte

Brew your favorite fresh hot coffee, while it is brewing you can make the froth. A proper frother will work best but you can try a blender as well.

Use a small saucepan, stir the milk and pumpkin puree together in the pan and heat up over medium heat stirring often so the milk does not burn about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the syrup, vanilla, nutmeg, and pumpkin spice. Now use the frother to make the whipped topping, add to the freshly brewed coffee and sprinkle with some cinnamon.

I used the same sugar-free syrup that I used in the smoothie, any flavored sugar-free syrup will work in this recipe, if you can find a pumpkin or a caramel that would be great to use.

You can substitute the milk for almond, cashew, or any milk you prefer.

*Note- substitute with unsweetened almond/cashew milk to lower points to 1 on blue/purple and 2 on green
**Note- I don't add points for fruit in smoothies, I do not drink them often enough to feel it is necessary but you do what is best for you and your journey.

  1. Looks delicious!! Silly question. Is the sugar free syrup, maple syrup? Is there a particular kind you use? I have never used it before.

Hi Michelle, here in Canada I buy the E.D. Smith no sugar syrup, it resembles a maple syrup but not as strong in taste, stores like homesense/winners will typically sell sugar-free syrups that you can use in coffee etc and you can usually get a variety of flavors, hope that helps

So I just made the smoothie and it was not good. With 2 1/2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice, it tasted literally like I just poured the pumpkin spice into my mouth. Is there a typo there?
