Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples peeled and diced
  • 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice I used 1/2 of a lemon
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup oats I used Quaker quick oats
  • 1.5 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp light butter melted (I use Gay Leah brand)
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free caramel sauce I used Smucker's

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F, and spray a 9x13 casserole dish with some nonstick cooking spray. Set the dish aside for now.
  • Peel and dice the apples, then mix the diced apples with the lemon juice and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the all purpose flour, quick oats, brown sugar, and nuts together. Then stir in the melted butter and caramel sauce.
  • Place the apples in the casserole dish then top with the oat/nut topping. It will be sticky which is what you want. Divide the mixture evenly over the apples.
  • Bake it in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
  • Makes 6 servings. Each serving is approx 6oz. Serve warm and enjoy.
