- 6 medium apples peeled and diced
- 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice I used 1/2 of a lemon
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup oats I used Quaker quick oats
- 1.5 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 Tbsp light butter melted (I use Gay Leah brand)
- 1/4 cup sugar-free caramel sauce I used Smucker's
Preheat the oven to 350F, and spray a 9x13 casserole dish with some nonstick cooking spray. Set the dish aside for now.
Peel and dice the apples, then mix the diced apples with the lemon juice and cinnamon in a small bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix the all purpose flour, quick oats, brown sugar, and nuts together. Then stir in the melted butter and caramel sauce.
Place the apples in the casserole dish then top with the oat/nut topping. It will be sticky which is what you want. Divide the mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake it in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
Makes 6 servings. Each serving is approx 6oz. Serve warm and enjoy.
