Ingredients

  • 4 salmon filets about 1 lb or 454 g total
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt 1.5 g
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 0.5 g
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (about 1 tablespoon or 10 g)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 30 ml
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil 5 ml

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare your salmon fillets: Pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This will help the seasoning stick better and promote better browning.
  • Mix the marinade: In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Mix well to create your seasoning blend.
  • Soak the fish: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Drizzle the apple cider vinegar and olive oil over the fillets, making sure to coat them evenly.
  • Season: Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the salmon, gently pressing it onto the flesh to ensure it adheres well. Let the salmon marinate for about 5-10 minutes while your air fryer finishes preheating.
  • Add to air-fryer: Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets in the basket, skin-side down if your fillets have skin. Make sure they're not overcrowded – you want the hot air to circulate freely around each piece.
  • Cook the salmon in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your fillets and how well-done you prefer your salmon. For medium doneness, aim for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Check for doneness: Gently press the thickest part of a fillet with a fork.
  • Remove the salmon from the air fryer using a spatula. The fillets will be delicate, so handle them gently to avoid breaking.
  • Let the salmon rest for a minute or two before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the fillet, ensuring maximum flavor and moisture in every bite.
