Fried Pickles Recipe Ingredients
- 16 oz jar Dill pickle chip ovals
- ¼ tsp Paprika
- ¼ tsp Garlic powder
- To taste Salt (keep in mind that panko already has some salt)
- 2 pinches Black pepper
- ¾ cup Panko I used Kikkoman Japanese-style Panko
- 2 Eggs
Cajun Yogurt Dipping Sauce
- ¾ cup Nonfat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp Pickle juice
- ¼ tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (add more to taste)
Preheat the air fryer to 400F. Drain the pickle chips, reserving some of the pickle juice.
Spread out the pickles and dry them on both sides with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
Separately, in a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until thoroughly combined. In another bowl, add the seasoning to the panko and mix to disperse them.
Dip the dried pickle chips into the egg mixture and then into the panko breadcrumbs, making sure to thoroughly coat the pickles on both sides. Line the pickles onto a sheet tray with parchment paper as you work. (I put the pickles and eggs in a large bowl together, then dipped them in the panko one-by-one).
To cook the pickles, place them in the air fryer in a single layer with some space in between them. Lightly spray them with cooking spray and cook for 5 minutes. Flip them, spray again, and cook another 4-6 minutes until your desired crispiness. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to cook the breaded pickles in batches.
To make the sauce, mix all of the ingredients together. Serve with the air fryer fried pickles.
