- 6 large apples peeled and sliced
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- FOR THE CRUMBLE
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup + 2Tbsp oats *quick oats work fine
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp light butter melted
Preheat the oven to 350F and spray a 9 inch baking dish with some nonstick cooking spray.
Peel and slice the apples. Any apples will work- choose your favorite.
Add the sliced apples and cranberries to a bowl. Add in the 2 tablespoons of flour, brown sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla and stir well so that the apples are completely coated.
Place the fruit mixture into the baking dish.
In a small bowl mix together the crumble topping - flour, oats, brown sugar, walnuts, nutmeg, and melted butter. Mix until it’s crumbly, and then sprinkle on top of the fruit mixture.
Bake the crisp in the oven for approximately 45 minutes. You want the fruit tender and the crumble golden.
Let it cool for 5 minutes then serve.
