Stuffed Mushrooms

Cheesy and delicious stuffed mushroom caps in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 300 g. Mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • ½ cup chopped onion 50 g
  • 2 slices smoked turkey ham
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese reduced fat
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Mushrooms

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mushrooms with a paper towel to remove any dirt. Avoid washing them to prevent excess moisture.
  • Stem Removal: Gently twist and remove the stems from the mushrooms. Make a small incision with a knife if needed.

Make the filling

  • Sautéing the Stems: Chop the mushroom stems finely. Heat a teaspoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped stems and onions. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the mushroom stems are cooked through.
  • Adding Ham and Cheese: Dice the turkey ham into small pieces and add them to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Crumble the cheddar cheese slice into the mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and the filling is well combined. Season with salt to taste.

Stuff the Mushrooms

  • Filling the Caps: Using a small spoon, fill each mushroom cap with the prepared filling. Press down gently to ensure the filling is packed.
  • Arranging in the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer. Place the stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are evenly spaced.

Airfry the stuffed mushrooms

  • Cooking Time: Air fry the stuffed mushrooms at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 10-12 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is golden brown.

Garnish and Serve

  • Finishing Touches: Once cooked, remove the stuffed mushrooms from the air fryer. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
  • Presentation: Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a serving platter and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
