Turkey Meatloaf

A lighter twist on this American classic meat dish.

Ingredients

  • 750 g. ground turkey
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs 30 g.
  • 1 onion finely chopped, 100 g.
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper finely chopped (choose your favorite color), 150 g.
  • 1 carrot grated, 100 g.
  • 1 zucchini grated, 140 g.
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup kétchup no sugar add
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for greasing the pan

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil.
  • Sauté Veggies: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper, grated carrot, and zucchini until they're soft and fragrant. This step enhances the flavor and texture of your meatloaf.
  • Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, sautéed vegetables, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  • Shape the Meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture into the greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf shape. You can also make individual meatloaf muffins if you prefer.
  • Bake: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The top should be nicely browned.
  • Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meatloaf moist and flavorful.
