Cinnamon twists

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of reduced fat pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 1 Tbsp apple sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375F, spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and portion it into four sections of two. Pinch any seams closed.
  • Using a pastry brush, brush on the apple sauce onto two of your dough pieces.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bag or bowl and then sprinkle 1 tablespoon onto each dough piece that you brushed with apple sauce. Set the rest aside to sprinkle on top of the cinnamon twists.
  • Place the other dough pieces on top of the covered pieces.
  • Use a pizza cutter and cut each piece into 9 small strips.
  • Grab the ends of each small strip, and twist in opposite directions until you get a pretty spiral all the way down the piece. Place each piece on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar mix.
  • Bake them in the oven for 10-12 minutes, checking often so they don't burn.
