Three reasons why you need to make this recipe!

You gotta love a dump and go recipe.

No master cooking skills are needed here. Just put all the ingredients in the crockpot and let it cook on its own for hours. You don’t even have to stop halfway and stir it. It’s ready when you’re ready for it.

It’s much healthier than the traditional cream of chicken soup recipe.

Instead of using a high fat cream of chicken soup like a lot of other recipes, this Crockpot Ranch Chicken features low fat cream cheese and reduced fat mozzarella. You can still have your comfort food- without all the high fat calories.

It’s high protein and low carb.

Because it’s so high in protein and low in carbs, it can be paired with almost any carb that you like for a well rounded lunch or dinner. This cheesy chicken goes great with veggies, rice, potatoes, pasta, or even just crackers!

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • Crockpot Ranch Chicken goes great over baked potatoes.
  • You can use fat free cream cheese to lower the calorie content per serving.
  • Oven Version: Place everything in a 9×13 casserole dish (except for bacon) and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees – until chicken is fully cooked through. Remove from oven, sprinkle on the bacon, and put back in the oven for about 5-10 minutes to make sure all cheese is fully melted.
  • Hide some veggies in this Crockpot Ranch Chicken! Add a bag of cauliflower rice or frozen broccoli to the crockpot along with all the other ingredients. With all the cheese, it covers the taste of veggies very easily.
  • If you want a fully balanced meal in one dish, add baby potatoes (cut in half) into the pot along with the chicken, cheese, and ranch. You’ll have a full dinner when it’s done.

Tips and Tricks for Making Crockpot Ranch Chicken:

  • This dish keeps well in the fridge for up to 7 days.
  • You can freeze it as well. Freeze individual servings in small ziploc bags for thawing ease. To reheat, remove from the ziploc bag and microwave for 2-3 minutes. Alternatively, you can let a bag sit in the fridge overnight and thaw that way.
  • Yes, you do need the double dose of garlic. Both the garlic cloves and the garlic powder really enhance the flavor along with the ranch and make this chicken worth eating over and over again.
  • You don’t need to add any liquid to the crockpot. As the chicken cooks, it will release juices, combine with the ranch seasoning and cheese to make a delicious sauce.
  • You can make your own ranch seasoning instead of using a store bought packet if you’d like by combining the following herbs and spices: dried buttermilk powder, dried chives, dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. The exact recipe will give you a large amount you can store in the cabinet, while you use 3 tbsp of it for the Crockpot Ranch Chicken recipe.

  1. i was wondering about using ff cream cheese and ff mozzerela to lower the point. do you think it would work?

    1. Yes it will work just fine, I’m not sure on the point change though best to build it in the WW recipe builder

  2. For those of you who had theirs burn- some crockpots have temperature fluctuations (like mine) so it’s best to put some liquid in there to help keep from burning things. I just put 1 cup of chicken broth to the bottom to keep the temperature constant. It still was great on a bun- it didn’t make it too runny or anything.

  3. My daughter makes this for my grandsons wrestling meets. It’s the number one requested dish for the snack table. everyone LOVES it. I’m trying it today.
