Traditional Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is delicious but typically filled with fat and calories. This version of Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is still delicious, but healthy for you. I’ve replaced the Ritz crackers with bacon and used Zero Point ranch instead of cream of chicken soup. This saves you a lot of points and makes this casserole even more delicious.

If you’re looking for an easy weeknight dinner, this is it. You can even make it a day ahead if you know you won’t have time the night of. It’s also great for meal prep and freezing. Bake it on a Sunday, and you’ve got 6 lunches prepared for the week. You can stay on track without sacrificing good food. You’ll look forward to your daily lunches of Million Dollar Chicken Casserole.

Three reasons why you need to make this recipe!

As the title states, it really is worth it.

The flavors of ranch, bacon, chicken, and cheese come together to create a delicious, one pot dinner. This is a one stop shop for your taste buds. Worth every penny!

It’s easy to adjust the Weight Watchers points.

If one serving is too high in points for you, you can easily substitute fat free cream cheese in for the light cream cheese as well as fat free shredded cheese instead of reduced fat shredded cheese. Those two swaps will lower the points without significantly changing the flavor of the dish.

Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is a healthy way to enjoy cheese for cheese lovers.

This dish features several types of cheese, all of it melty and gooey. Exactly how you like it. It’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • Use Zero Point Ranch dressing instead of the light ranch. It’ll make each serving 8 points instead of 9 points.
  • You can use non-fat Greek yogurt instead of sour cream to lower the points. It will taste the same.
  • If you don’t like Everything but the Bagel seasoning, you’re welcome to use whatever seasoning you like. Dill would be a great choice – it will really enhance the ranch flavor.
  • You can use turkey bacon instead of regular bacon if you’d like. It’s personal preference.
  • If you’re not a fan of chicken, you can substitute extra lean ground beef or lean ground turkey.

Tips and Tricks for Making Million Dollar Chicken Casserole:

  • This is a great freeze ahead meal. Bake a few batches of this recipe in alumnum pans, wrap well and store in the freezer for up to 6 months. You can give them away as gifts to new moms, or for someone going through a hard time. To reheat yourself, pull one out the night before and let it thaw in the fridge. When you’re ready for dinner, bake the casserole for about 30 minutes or until heated through.
  • You can bake this a day ahead of time. Just follow the directions up until step 6, but don’t bake it the last 10 minutes. Sprinkle with the cheese and seasoning, cover it with saran warp and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake. The next day, let the casserole come to room temperature while the oven is pre-heating. Bake for 20 minutes, until it’s heated through.
  • Use shredded rotisserie chicken to save time, rather than cooking the chicken yourself. Costco has a delicious pack of pre-shredded, rotisserie chicken that works great in this dish. If you’re using a full rotisserie chicken, make sure to use only the chicken breast so that it doesn’t add points.

  1. Has anyone tried using Chobani Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream? I usually sub it out but have never made anything with biscuits from the store because they are usually way to high in points. I’m in the USA. What biscuits do you recommend? Brand? I have TJ’s in my town as well. You are a recipe QUEEN!! 😀 (from a former Calgary girl, now a Cali girl. Hehe…

    1. Hi Bonnie, thanks for your kind words 🙂 Yes I know others who swap out sour cream for yogurt. I typically pick up the Great value biscuits from Walmart when I cross the border, they should carry the small 7.5 oz rolls, (10 small biscuits in each roll) Jealous you now live in Cali, the weather must be a complete turn around from Calgary.. I’ll make it to a warm climate for good one day 🙂

  2. Had a good flavor, however a 9×15 pan is way too large. Came out flat – also do not need to bake as long as specified. Will decrease time by 5 or 10 minutes. Biscuits were hard as a rock.

    1. Hi Patricia, I use a 9×13 pan as stated in the recipe. I had no issues, sorry to hear you did and hopefully it works out next time 🙂

    1. Hi I always make my own shredded chicken in the crockpot but you can use canned chicken, just a preference thing with me 🙂

  3. A new favorite for sure, we’ve been making this on repeat it’s so delicious. The only change I made was to double the recipe and cut it into 12 pieces instead of six. I thought it was too thin for a 9 x 13 pan without doubling it. Because we cut it into smaller portions the point value didn’t change which was nice. One serving was definitely filling especially with a vegetable on the side

    1. Hi Rachael, I am so glad you all enjoyed it, I love the idea of doubling it to make it thicker and cutting into smaller pieces thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. I’m from the US and mine came out to 10 points. It was really good but not really fulfilling for 10 points. One hour later and im hungry all over again.

    1. HI, I wonder if you used the wrong sized can of biscuits? The one I use is 17SP for the whole can, other than that I can’t see what would cause such an increase in points

  5. I’m not a huge fan of canned biscuits BUT this looks so good, I think I’ll try making it with 2 ingredient dough and put into the recipe builder to get my PP value.

  6. 5 stars
This was delicious! Serving sizes are a bit small but we gobbled it up! Subbed ranch seasoning for everything seasoning and it came out creamy and delicious. Thanks for another amazing recipe!!
