I am in love with this Chicken Alfredo Bubble Up casserole mostly because it’s packed with fantastic flavor while only being five Weight Watchers points per serving. My bubble up casseroles are filling and the perfect mix of all the favorite classic foods. Add a side salad and you have a great, easy family meal perfect for busy weeknights.

By using pre-cooked shredded chicken, like leftover rotisserie chicken, and frozen broccoli, the prep of this meal is a breeze. I love recipes that are easy to throw together, but still taste amazing, and this Chicken Alfredo bubble up is it! My whole family enjoyed it, even with the broccoli mixed in. Use this recipe to introduce veggies to your kids, and I doubt you’ll have any issues. They’ll gobble it right up. Light alfredo sauce makes it easy to keep the calories low too. If you haven’t tried the lightened up version of Alfredo sauce that is available in most stores, I highly suggest using it. It’s still creamy and cheesy – just has fewer calories than its regular counterpart.

Most Alfredo sauce or chicken alfredo meals are extremely high in saturated fat because it’s made with a lot of butter and cheese. One serving of this casserole is only 3 grams of saturated fat, so you can feel good about what you’re eating.

Ingredients you need to make Chicken Alfredo Bubble Up: 

  • 1 (7.5 oz) package Pillsbury biscuits in the 4 value pack
  • 3 cups frozen broccoli
  • 10 oz cooked and cubed boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • Dash of salt and pepper
  • ½ cup reduced fat Alfredo pasta sauce 
  • ½ cup shredded light mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded asiago cheese or other cheese that you prefer

How to make Chicken Alfredo Bubble Up (step by step): 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F and spray a 9×13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cut the 10 biscuits into 6 small pieces each and layer them in the bottom of the dish. If you want, you can pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes (some ovens vary and some may find the middle does not cook through, I never have an issue but pre-baking should eliminate this from happening)
  3. Cook the broccoli in the microwave as directed on the package.
  4. In a bowl, mix the broccoli, cooked and cubed chicken, salt, pepper, alfredo sauce, and mozzarella cheese until it’s well combined. 
  5. Spoon the mixture evenly onto the biscuit pieces and bake in the casserole in the oven for 25 minutes. Remove it from the oven and add the asiago cheese on top. Return it to the oven for 15-20 minutes. 
  6. Let it cool for about 5 minutes then cut into 6 equal servings. Enjoy!

  • Great Value is a good brand of biscuit dough that still offers the 4 value pack of 7.5 oz packages. If you can’t find those just weigh out 7.5 oz of dough from a bigger pack.
  • Feel free to substitute for a cheese of your liking, if you’re not a fan of asiago. I love the bite it gives, but parmesan is also a good choice.

  • This chicken alfredo bubble up casserole keeps in the fridge (covered tightly) for up to seven days. You can also freeze it for up to three months. 
  • To reheat, just pop a serving back in the oven, or air fryer, for 6-8 minutes.

  1. I’m quite upset, i just made this dish and am putting the recipe in my recipe app and the points work out to 9 before adding extra cheese on top! The biscuits alone are 35 points! 3 points a biscuit x 10 biscuits! The cheese is 5, brocolli 0, the chicken is 10, the alfredo sauce is 4 divided by 6 SMALL servings = 9 points!

Hi Elizabeth, it is really important to read the full recipe to see exactly what products I use, you have the wrong size biscuits, the small 7.5 oz packages are 17SP for the whole pack (10 small biscuits) I buy these at Walmart in the U.S they come in a 4 value pack and I do state that in the recipe.. also 10oz cooked chicken is 6SP not 10 (not sure where you are getting your numbers from) I do 3 methods of calculating for my recipes, WW App recipe builder, My fitness pal to get nutritional info and simple math in my head, I take my calculations seriously but that said I can’t help it if you are not using the exact products I am ..

    I have made this several times and love it! 4 servings go in the freezer in Glad containers, 1 saved out for next day and of course 1 for my dinner! Freeze well, I just reheat in oven. Thanks so much for your great recipes!

  3. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I made it today and it was very good. I followed the directions and pre-cooked the biscuits and they were a little crispy. Next time, I’ll cook it without doing the pre-cook. I appreciate that your recipes give me variety in cooking Weight Watcher friendly meals.

    Love your recipes! For those of us in Canada who can’t get to the States, if we buy our pillsbury and just weigh out 7.5 oz would that work out to what you buy at Walmart (USA).

    1. Yes, that is what I suggest and also to cut biscuit open then cut each half in 6 since the biscuits will be bigger
