I love creating new Bubble Up recipes because they’re easy, healthy, delicious, and so versatile. They have become a great simple dish in my house that everyone enjoys and keeps me on track! This Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up is similar to my Chicken Ranch Spaghetti Bake in flavor. So if you’re looking for something more carb-heavy, go with the spaghetti bake. It will feed a crowd. If you need something light and healthy, or perfect for your lunch meal prep, go with this Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up.

My Bubble Up recipes use the 7.5oz biscuit packs, and they can now be hard to find. But you can still make these easily by weighing out 7.5 oz of dough. Or you could use all of the biscuit dough that you have, and just use the Weight Watchers App Recipe Creator to change your points value of the recipe. It’s easy to do!

Three reasons why you need to make this recipe!

One serving of Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up is only 250 calories.

It’s hard to find a healthy casserole that’s under 500 calories, much less under 300 calories. You’ll instantly fall in love with the flavor of this Bubble Up and the fact that it’s so low in calories.

It’s a fantastic recipe for meal prepping.

Since it’s easy to make, and will give you six servings, you could make it on a Sunday to have lunches done for the week. It will easily keep all week in the fridge.

Diet food doesn’t have to be bland.

By using ranch seasoning, you can keep the calories low and still get the delicious ranch flavor we all love. Actual ranch dressing is high in calories, so this saves you a good bit of calories without sacrificing flavor.

Ingredients you need to make Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up:

  • 1 (7.5 oz) biscuit pack
  • 8 oz cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 (28 g) ranch seasoning mix package
  • ¾ cup 1% low-fat milk
  • 5 oz light shredded mozzarella
  • ¼ cup fat-free sour cream
  • 5 slices Oscar Mayer center-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Chopped green onion, optional

How to make Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up (step by step):

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and spray a 9×13 casserole dish with some nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cut the biscuits into 6 pieces each and spread the dough pieces over the bottom of the casserole dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, ranch seasoning mix, sour cream, milk and half of the cheese (2.5oz) together. This mixture shouldn’t be too thick.
  4. Place spoonfuls over the top of the biscuit pieces and make sure to cover all areas. Top the casserole with the remaining cheese and add the crumbled, cooked bacon and green onion.
  5. Bake in the oven for approx 40-45 minutes – until the biscuits are golden and cooked through.

Different ways to change up this recipe:

  • You could use your own ranch seasoning mix by a mixture of the following herbs: Onion powder, onion flakes, dill, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and dried chives.
  • If you don’t have low point bacon, just use a few pieces and make sure it’s crumbled really well so you can still spread it across the whole casserole.
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro work great as a topping if you don’t like green onion.
  • Add in diced bell peppers to help bulk this up if you like veggies.

Tips and Tricks for Making Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up:

  • I suggest cutting the biscuits open in half, then each half piece into 6 pieces as the biscuits will be larger and you want as many small dough pieces as you can get.
  • Walmart’s Great Value Brand has a value 4 pack, with each tube being 7.5 oz, so that is a great one to use.
  • Chicken Bacon Ranch Bubble Up freezes well. It’s a great casserole to make a few in aluminum pans and freeze. This will allow you to just pull one out when needed, and bake it up. I recommend freezing it after it’s cooked. You could also use these frozen casseroles to gift to new moms or at housewarming parties.

  1. I have searched all my grocery stores and cannot find biscuits only grands – if I weight it out, will that work? Thank you for sharing all your creativity with us!

    1. Yes weigh it out but cut them open and then into small pieces, I buy the biscuits in the U.S, just make sure they are small pieces or you might not have enough to cover the bottom

  2. I made this tonight taking advantage of husband being out of town (he hates creamy stuff!) it was really good,
But I cooked mine 40 minutes and it was kind of dry. Are the biscuits supposed to “puff” up at all? We still ate it and really enjoyed it just wondering how I can make it a little more moist.

    1. Hi Julie, sorry to hear that, are you sure you are using the right size biscuits? If your pack is larger than the small 7.5 oz pack I used then it would cause it to be too dry

  3. Delicious! I made it for dinner tonight. I added sautéed bell peppers, red onion, baby portobello mushrooms and garlic. So good!

  4. WOW-zers!!!! This thing is so tasty and delicious! Made this for dinner tonight and I can’t wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow! Thanks for the recipe! Also thanks for making everything WW friendly:)

  5. I made this tonight and, while delicious, it was super salty and I’m not usually salt sensitive. I noticed the brand of ranch mix you use is less sodium but I can’t find it anywhere. I used Hidden Valley Dip mix. Should I have used the Hidden Valley ranch dressing and seasoning mix?

    1. Hi Anya, sorry to hear it was salty, I’m not sure where you are located, I’m in Canada and if you are in the U.S it might come down to what is available here versus there, maybe try another brand?

  6. 5 stars
This was delicious! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I used almond milk instead of regular milk and did about 14 oz of chicken (it’s what I had in a bag in the freezer lol). I count calories, not a Weight Watchers gal. But using the ingredients I used, it came out to 266 calories per serving (6 servings total). Highly recommend this recipe and thank you for something so yummy! Can’t wait to try more of your recipes 😊
